The radio has a forward firing speaker, not a downward firing one so no external speaker is needed.

I really took my time and used my skills as an airplane mechanic and HAM radio operator to make it right, and make it fit well. Let me tell you, that was not easy, it was a lot of work, but it was well worth it. He grabs me a bracket out of a wreck and says he'd like to see it when I'm done. We jump in the company truck and off we go across the road to the body shop. I asked a mechanic if he minded going with me to the back and taking one out of a wreck so I could cut it up and make my CB fit on my home time. We have all the old hulks of wrecked trucks in the back. Of course I couldn't start ripping the panel of my truck apart and cutting out the storage tray since we aren't even allowed to drill a hole in this truck.but I had an idea. Well, after a little research, I decided to try to take on this challenge. The president McKinley model CB (very expensive radio, far more than the radios in the truck stops) is designed to fit into a Din slot perfectly. Meaning the radio takes one slot and the storage area is the other. I moved it all over the place and then it dawned on me.the crapcadia has a double din slot for the radio. I was looking around the cab of my freightshaker and was taking my radio and shoving it in different areas just to see what could be done. I absolutely hate having a CB on my dash.
